YOUNG AT HEART Bahá'í Newsletter August 2001 Mission Statement To facilitate seasoned Bahá'ís to utilize their life and professional experiences, talents and resources, knowledge and skills in continued service to Bahá'u'lláh. Announcement Have you changed your snail-mail or e-mail address? Please notify us so that we can continue to send you the Young At Heart newsletter. Thank you. News If you are looking for a unique Bahá'í retirement experience, you might consider Casa de Rosas, a 16-unit living center under construction at the Desert Rose Bahá'í Institute in Arizona. It is being specifically built for those over 50 who will develop and experience a new concept for living. The complex is southwestern in style. It has four buildings in a square with a landscaped courtyard at its center with a gazebo-like Common Room for all. The 80-acre Institute is located in Eloy, Arizona, within 20 minutes of the city of Casa Grande and about an hour from Tucson and Phoenix. For further information contact Tobey Hampson. E-mail: pioneer@usbnc.org Your editor recently spent five days at the Iowa State Fair helping at the Bahá'í booth. It was quite an experience—one to be remembered. It was the first time in a number of years that the Bahá'ís had a booth there. The dates for the fair were 9-19 August and during that period about one million people passed through the gates. The Des Moines LSA purchased Virtues Crowns from Special Ideas, and over 14,000 crowns were given out. A reminder that our Young At Heart mission statement is very much about service to Bahá'u'lláh and the Faith. Giving of yourself to help others is a noble deed. And no town is too small. Ginny in her town of around 700 helps at the library. Look around your community and see what service you can do. Early September your editor is leaving the country for a travel-teaching trip to Poland and the Baltics. My return is scheduled for early October, so the next newsletter will come out later that month. Do keep in touch and send us some news to put in this newsletter. Warmest Bahá'í love to all of you!
