Walking the Spiritual Path with Practical Feet: Building the Kingdom Of God In all the Holy Scriptures, there are prophecies about a day, a special day, acclaimed and praised as the Day of God, when God and God alone will rule over mankind. •In Zoroastrian, the religion of the people of Persia, that day is a day in which, God will eventually defeat evil and light will rule over darkness. •In Buddhism, the day of enlightenment and peace will come. •In Hinduism, peace, justice and tranquility will cover the whole earth. •In Judaism, all Things will be good and in order, and lion and lamb will eat together. •In Christianity, the Father's kingdom will come to earth as it is in heaven, His Will, will be done, and His Glory will cover the whole earth. •In Islam, the Earth will be illumined with the light of its Lord and Paradise will be on earth. •In the Bahá'í Faith, In that Day God, alone will rule. The Lord of Names, Himself, will be praised and not only the Names, which are in the first place the messengers of God. Bahá'ís Praise and Glorify God in His name The Glory of the Most Glorious, which is the sum of all His Names. The Prophets of God are one and all Praised through their relationship with God. They represent Him and Him alone. The Supreme Manifestation as the Glory of God, Bahá'u'lláh. The Herald Prophet as the Gate of God, the Báb. Mohammed as the Apostle of God, Rasul'u'llah. Jesus Christ as the spirit of God, Ruh'u'llah. Moses as the Converser with God, Kalim'u'llah. Ibrahim as the Friend of God, Khalil'u'llah. Noah as the Messenger of God, Nabi'u'llah Now that the Promise is clear, the Bahá'ís believe that Baha'u'lláh is here to establish God's Kingdom on earth. This, he is doing through: Firstly, seizing Power and Glory of two classes: the Kings and the Ecclesiastics. Secondly, by investing Power and Glory in the grass root peoples of the world. He says: In this Day the Kingdom is Gods, the Omnipotent, the All-Powerful, the Almighty. In this context: He makes us all look within and see God and His light within us. Many passages in the Hidden words, especially the Arabic, explain this reality. He wants us not to attach to the names and forms. The prophets, that is their Names, are one and all, God's representatives, so we should see God through them. All the religions are chapters of the same book or phases of the Progressive Revelation of God. The recognition of God is only possible through the recognition of His attributes and perfection, which are revealed in His Manifestations. We should look up to them and adorn our temple with those attributes, for example, justice, equity, knowledge, patience and . . . To attain to this, He guides us to: Make the most use of the Word of God, recite it and meditate on it every morning and every evening. Pray to God and supplicate to Him in every occasion, in getting up from bed, in breathing, in thinking, in having food, in leaving the house, in engaging with our daily work, because our work in the spirit of service is worshipping God, in getting home, and in getting to bed. In fact, as the Exemplar of the Faith, 'Abdu'l-Bahá, says: we are, at all times, in a state of thanksgiving. There are many aspects of our individual life that can be mentioned and talked about. Time is short and I just touched some. Collectively, we are in the process of establishing the Kingdom of God on earth, that is creating the Administrative Order of the Faith which is the precursor of the New World Order of Bahá'u'lláh. This New World Order of Bahá'u'lláh is all spiritual, is all Divine. To mention a few aspects: •Election of the institutions of the Faith is a prayerful action. No political act and partisanship is allowed. We vote through prayer, self-consciousness and meditation. •We rely, in decision making on God's guidance. •We pray frequently during the processes of consultation. •We turn to the Supreme Being on High, and beseech God's Inspiration before opening our mouths. •The Supreme body of the Faith, the Universal House of Justice never makes any decision by itself, but God makes the decision. 'Abdu'l-Bahá says; "Let it not be imagined that the House of Justice will take any decision according to its own concepts and opinions, God forbid!" •The Supreme House of Justice will take decisions and establish laws through the inspiration and confirmation of the Holy Spirit, because it is in the safekeeping and under the shelter and protection of the Ancient Beauty, and obedience to its decisions is a bounden and essential duty and an absolute obligation, and there is no escape for anyone. "Say, O People: Verily the Supreme House of Justice is under the wings of your Lord, the Compassionate, the All-Merciful, that is under His protection, His care and His shelter, for He has commanded the firm believers to obey that blessed, sanctified and all subduing body, whose sovereignty is divinely ordained and of the Kingdom of Heaven and whose laws are inspired and spiritual." (The Covenant of Bahá'u'lláh, pp 397-398) NOW: How can we grow in our knowledge of God? How can we be sure of God's virtues and His purpose in our lives? The best way is to reflect on Bahá'u'lláh's writing, His prayers and supplications. In most of them like the Fire Tablet, Bahá'u'lláh is engaged in a beautiful and soul-stirring dialogue with God, the Spirit of God. These tablets are the source of recognition of God. Now I ask the friends to look inside and cooperate with me in appraising what we have done and what we are going to do in establishing the Kingdom of God on Earth. A kingdom comes into being with the work of the soldiers and workers. Devoted and enthusiastic soldiers who are in love with the king, carry out the plans. We believers, you and me, are the workers in the Vineyard of the Lord, in the Kingdom of ABHA. We should serve and serve. And it is good to know that once we arise to serve, we have the assurance of the Abhá Beauty. He says: "Verily, We behold you from Our realm of glory, and shall aid whosoever will arise for the triumph of Our Cause with the hosts of the Concourse on high and a company of Our favoured angels." The Most Holy Book, # 53 Now, let us meditate on the Tablet. There is one special Tablet, in Arabic. You find it in the First 44 pages of the Adí-iyyih-i-hadrat-i-Mahbub. I have made an analysis of this Tablet and I am going to share it with friends.
