Inspiring Joy, Hope and Confidence in Newcomers: Embracing Cultural Gems

by U.S. Bahá’í Refugee Office

Overview

Visitors to this site will be encouraged to establish bonds of friendship as an avenue to address the spiritual and nurturing needs of newcomers (refugees) to Bahá’í communities and to establish lasting bonds of friendship on a one to one basis.

This site hopes to inspire confidence in this process by learning effective strategies, cultural knowledge and offer working examples that help newcomers integrate into American society, and to provide participants with an increased awareness that every culture has qualities and customs that are needed to develop our Bahá’í culture and community.

The US Bahá’í Refugee Office has over 18 years experience in working with newcomers and their local communities including sharing effective strategies for consolidation, exploring issues that affect newcomers, promoting the empowerment of newcomers in their local Bahá’í communities, and fostering awareness, appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures.
