Improving Local Classes and Personal Deepening Efforts: The Role of World Order Magazine

by Robert H. Stockman

Overview

This workshop taught the friends how to use World Order magazine as a highly effective tool for personal and group study of the concepts from the Bahá’í Writings and their application to world events and issues.

Outline

1. World Order was created by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís United States to stimulate, inspire, and serve thinking people in their search to find relationships between contemporary life and contemporary religious teachings and philosophy and to address issues of broad social concern. As such it contains many articles that are relevant to study of the Faith and to explaining the Faith to people of capacity.
2. Most issues of World Order are still in print and contain a goldmine of articles suitable for copying for local institute courses and deepenings, if they can be found (which is why we will offered finding aids).
3. World Order seeks to help Bahá’ís learn to study the Faith deeply and relate it to the contemporary world. It also wishes to develop new authors who can write about the Faith.
