by Marie Scheffer

Overview

This workshop focuses on building loving, cohesive communities. Through reflection on metaphors, its creates a deeper appreciation for the degree of unity to which we are called. The workshop examines various attitudes and behaviors that enhance or undermine unity, and it provides opportunities for individuals to reflect on changes they can make as a contribution to the process of community building.

Abstract

1. Examine metaphors from the Bahá’í Writings to perceive the degree of unity to which we are called (Handout below)
2. Identify behaviors and attitudes that build or undermine unity and understand how each affects the individual and the community (Handout below)
3. Brainstorming activity to uncover ways to practice active kindness individually and collectively
4. Artwork activity for reflection and personal action planning
5. Group singing of Red and Kathy Grammer’s song “I Think You’re Wonderful”
